Tea Time brand identity

Client: Tea Time

Brief: Tea Time is an internet commentary YouTube channel run by Mocha Pennington and Nicky Elliot Nelson. Tea Time uploads new videos at least once a week along with occasional interactive live streams. Nicky & Mocha mainly report on the goings-on of the online beauty community, but their content can extend to general internet and pop culture as well. I stumbled upon their channel at its conception in 2017, and fell in love with their witty banter and unapologetic delivery of their opinions. Hungry for a branding project that was both inspired by & felt passionate about, I reached out to Nicky & Mocha about creating a brand identity for their channel, and thus the project began.

Deliverables
– Tea Time logo
– Custom illustrated avatars
– Intro and outro animation screens for YouTube
– Social banners, profile pictures, and thumbnails for Twitter and YouTube
– Brand identity style guide

Brand Identity

I worked closely with Nicky & Mocha to come up with an identity that brought Tea Time to life and accurately represented their styles. We boiled the visuals down to four ingredients—neon, city, greenery, & triangles—the neon green & pink colors representing Nicky & Mocha, respectively.

Video Intro

I created the intro in Adobe After Effects along with illustrative asset creation in Procreate. I utilized their existing (Charlie’s Angles-themed!) audio and replaced what was previously a singular static image.
