Role: Keynote Show Asset Design Lead, Commercial Content Storyboard Artist
– Lead designer and motion graphic artist for 4-part custom general session stage. Deliverables include:

  • Stage presets

  • Lower thirds

  • Speaker walk-ons

  • Animated event logo

  • Misc. hold slates

  • Transition moments/wipes

  • Custom keynote assets

– Collaborate with 3D artist to create assets for stage animation and integrate into After Effects
– Storyboard two live-action commercials to be played live at Zoomtopia

The Preset Plan (below) shows how content is arranged for various moments and general looks that the audience will experience. This is a collaborative process between Agency EA and AV partner Four Moon Productions. Upon approval of content presets, the presets and approved stage design specs are passed along to Four Moon, who then provide pixel map/dimensions and media/file specifications for show files.

The Preset plan helps define:

  • Dimensions and sizing for show assets

  • Content planning/needs

  • Content design considerations

  • Onsite equipment needs

  • Onsite screen configuration and setup

Pre-planning

Animated logo & Hero image

The hero image above (designed by Katie Geary) was used as the main identifing image for Zoomtopia 2022. I then broke the file apart and animated the scene along with the Zoomtopia logo for use at the venue.

Following the content map above, the full-takeover speaker walk-ons give the illusion that the speakers are “portaling” onstage from one of the “worlds” featured in the hero image. Three walk-on variations were created to add variety to the show.

Animated Backgrounds

These assets served as ambient backgrounds for presentations. All presentation content was exported with transparency, so it was essential that the middle 16:9 portion of the design be low-contrast enough to allow the presentation content to stand out and be legible.

To create these backdrops, I worked with our in-house 3D artist to create looping wireframe animations in Blender. The 3D assets were imported into After Effects and formatted into the final looks.
